About the Candidate
Oscar Valdepeña has lived in Moreno Valley for over 15 years. He has been involved with local business and education for 7 years. Oscar has volunteered on many school sites to read, supports Junior Achievement as an industry instructor, and assisted in the implementation of school garden projects. Oscar advocates youth to have interships, job shadowing and mock interview opportunities with businesses. Oscar's commitment to Moreno Valley Unified School District is evident where he serves on numerous school committees/panels including; budget, school improvement, student of the month, Saluting Education, boundary, and facility improvements.
Oscar continuously promotes Moreno Valley businesses through his position as the President/CEO of the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce. He understands the importance of industry being connected with our schools, especially as it relates to creating a stronger workforce for businesses and industry.
Oscar is the current President of the Moreno Valley Morning Optimist Club, member of the Moreno Valley noon Rotary Club, Chairman for Access to The Future, Vice-Chair for Education/Student of The Month committee, and serves on many city committees and advisory boards.
Oscar is married and has twin 5-year old boys attending Moreno Valley Unified School District. He understands the importance of parents being involved and asks for your vote November 2, 2010.
